This article explains how middle school students were taught computer coding, 3D animation, and virtual environment basics during eight weeks.  After that occurred they were assign to create an animation or a game based on math or reading that would teach younger children learn a concept.  After their project was completed they had to present it in a classroom outside their school and their presentation was posted on YouTube and a school blog.  Through this activity students are able to learn technology tools and to teach them to younger kids enhancing and reinforcing their own learning.   While the younger students benefit from the experience learning about technology and the concept the older student is teaching through modeling.

What are the benefits of the older students when teaching other students?

Students would understand the programs better becasuse they would have to be prepared when teaching younger students by having practice and practice what is being learned.  Having to teach someone else a program might motivate the students to do his/her best when learning.

What are the benefits of the younger students to learn from the older ones?

Younger students will be able to learn from the older students through modeling.  They will also benefit from the patience older students have when explaining the programs making them more enjoyable for the students.
